Dr. Edward Lee was born in Queens and raised in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. While attending high school at Poly Prep in Brooklyn, he excelled in his studies while competing with the soccer and wrestling teams. Later at Tufts University, Dr. Lee earned his Bachelor of Arts in Economics. During his four years of undergraduate study, Dr. Lee also took an active role in the community as a liaison for campus events and helped plan the entertainment for everything from fraternity parties to basketball games.

After graduating from Tufts University’s School of Arts and Sciences, Dr. Lee spent another four years in Boston at Tufts University’s School of Dental Medicine. He continued to use his leadership abilities as a mentor for his younger peers. His capacity for understanding procedural ideas, deep periodontal training, as well as his exceptional eye for detail and skill made him a valuable resource for his peers and classmates. Dr. Lee continued to take an active role in his dental community as a member of the national dental fraternity, Delta Sigma Delta, and served as president of the Asian Dental Student Alliance.

Following dental school, Dr. Lee completed a general practice residency at the prestigious Veterans Association Hospital in Brooklyn, just steps away from his high school. There he met his wife, a Maryland native, who is also a dentist. On their days off, Dr. Lee and his wife can be seen running around the neighborhood chasing their toddler son.

Dr. Lee is an active member of the Second District Dental Society, the New York State Dental Society and the American Dental Association.

For Dr. Lee, the needs of his patients come first. He sees patient education as a vital component of his clinical philosophy and continues to promote optimal dental healthcare for all his patients. He believes seeing the dentist should be comfortable and enjoyable, so he takes great pride in trying to make comfort a reality for people of all ages.

Cheryl Poon, DDS

Cheryl Poon, DDS

Dr. Cheryl is a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist. She was a touch-it-all child at the dentist and was completely fascinated with all the cool tools and gadgets. She had her eyes set on being a dentist at a young age. Her dreams came true when she was accepted into an accelerated program, which allowed her to become a dentist in 7 years instead of 8 years. Even with an accelerated curriculum, Dr. Cheryl graduated Summa Cum Laude from SUNY Geneseo with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. She then graduated Magna Cum Laude from SUNY Buffalo School of Dental Medicine and was top 10 in her class allowing her to be inducted into the prestigious Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society.

It was then in her General Practice Residency in Newark that she found her passion for treating children. Dr. Cheryl still fondly remembers treating a scared little girl where she was able to channel her long-lost creativity and make an appointment full of sleepy teeth, sugar bugs, and princess castles. She continued on her journey to pursue her pediatric dental training at Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center and served as chief resident in her second year. She is also a recipient of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry Richard C. Pugh Achievement Award for scoring in the top 3% of the written boards.

In her spare time, Dr. Cheryl enjoys going to concerts, watching movies, baking, and traveling the world one country at a time. She is also passionate about giving back and volunteering her time to provide dental care to underserved populations. For the past 5 years, she has become an essential part of an outreach group that travels to Guatemala annually to treat the population who otherwise has no access to dental care.

Dr. Cheryl understands that every child is special and needs tender love and care tailored to their individual needs. She takes a conservative approach to dentistry and believes that prevention is the most important goal in dentistry. She strives to give every patient a fun and positive experience to pave the way for a lifetime of happy and healthy smiles!

Accessibility On Our Website

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 are recognized and acknowledged as the international standard measure of success. We regularly test our site to ensure we meet or exceed that standard and also consistently look for ways to improve the web site’s performance, speed, and accessibility.

We are committed to continuously improving access to our goods and services by individuals with disabilities. If you are unable to use any aspect of this website because of a disability, please call (718) 962-0300 and we will provide you with prompt personalized assistance.

If you have trouble seeing web pages, the US Social Security Administration offers these tips for optimizing your computer and browser to improve your online experience.

If you are looking for mouse and keyboard alternatives, speech recognition software such as Dragon Naturally Speaking may help you navigate web pages and online services. This software allows the user to move focus around a web page or application screen through voice controls.

If you are deaf or hard of hearing, there are several accessibility features available to you.

Closed Captioning
Closed captioning provides a transcript for the audio track of a video presentation that is synchronized with the video and audio tracks. Captions are generally visually displayed over the video, which benefits people who are deaf and hard of hearing, and anyone who cannot hear the audio due to noisy environments. Most of our website’s video content includes automated captions. Learn how to turn captioning on and off in YouTube.

Volume Controls
Your computer, tablet, or mobile device has volume control features. Each video and audio service has its own additional volume controls. Try adjusting both your device’s volume controls and your media players’ volume controls to optimize your listening experience.
